Why Act Now
Perth's Dedicated Leaking Shower Repair Specialists
A shower that leaks, even slowly, is doing damage you cannot see. Water seeps through failing grout and deteriorated silicone into the wall cavity and subfloor beneath, causing structural rot, mould growth, and damage to adjacent rooms that can cost tens of thousands of dollars to fix.
Regrouting Rescue exists for one purpose: to fix leaking showers throughout Perth quickly, thoroughly, and without the cost and disruption of full bathroom retiling. Every job is carried out by Timotei Simina, a regrouting specialist with over a decade of hands-on experience. When you call, you deal directly with the tradesman, not a call centre or subcontractor.
Our repair method targets the surfaces that actually fail: the grout joints and the silicone lines. We restore them using Mapei and Ardex high-performance flexible and epoxy grouts, products that outlast ordinary cement grout by years. The result is a watertight, clean, professionally finished shower backed by our 4-year workmanship warranty.
We service all Perth suburbs from Joondalup and Butler in the north to Mandurah and Rockingham in the south, and from Fremantle and Mosman Park on the coast to Ellenbrook and Kalamunda in the hills. Need your balcony sorted too? We also provide expert balcony regrouting across Perth.
Open Seven Days a Week
Monday to Saturday, 7am – 7:30pm · Sunday, 7am – 1pm
Most shower repair companies in Perth finish up at 4:30pm on a Friday. Timotei starts at 7am and works until 7:30pm six days a week, plus Sunday mornings, so you can have your shower looked at before work, after work, or on the weekend without taking a day off.
Honest Diagnosis
Is Regrouting Actually the Right Fix?
Not every leaking shower needs the same repair, and not every leaking shower needs us. Before quoting, Timotei works out what is actually causing the water to escape. If regrouting will not solve it, he will tell you that rather than take the job.
Failed or Cracked Grout
The most common cause by a distance. Cement-based grout shrinks, cracks and goes porous, letting water straight through into the substrate. A full degrout and regrout with Mapei or Ardex product deals with it properly.
Perished or Mouldy Silicone
The junctions where walls meet the floor, the shower screen perimeter and the vertical corners all move, and silicone eventually splits or peels away. Every silicone joint in the shower is cut out and replaced on every job.
Cracked Tiles
We generally avoid replacing cracked tiles, and there is a good reason for it. Lifting an existing tile can damage the waterproofing membrane sitting underneath it, which is precisely what we are trying to protect.
Where a cracked tile needs attention, we seal it with epoxy grout instead. If it is a minor hairline crack with no meaningful leakage risk, we will often recommend leaving it alone rather than replacing a tile unnecessarily.
Waterproofing Membrane Replacement
Replacing a membrane means stripping the shower back to the substrate, which is a full bathroom renovation. Where the existing membrane is still serviceable, tearing it out is exactly what we are trying to help you avoid.
Our approach is to restore the surface layers that have actually failed, the grout and the silicone, and leave a working membrane where it is.
Plumbing Leaks
Regrouting Rescue focuses on regrouting and sealing alone. We do not carry out plumbing work. If we suspect during assessment, whether from photos and videos you send through or from an on-site inspection, that the problem is plumbing related, we refer you to a qualified plumber.
They can carry out the appropriate pressure and flood testing to establish whether it is a plumbing or waterproofing issue before any regrouting work goes ahead. We regularly refer customers to City Plumbing & Gas.
Not Sure What You Have?
You do not need to book an inspection to get an opinion. Send photos or a short video of the shower by SMS or email and Timotei will give you an honest read on whether this looks like a grout and silicone problem or something else.

How Much Does a Leaking Shower Repair Cost in Perth?
Leaking shower repairs in Perth generally start from $350 incl GST for a basic shower base regrout and go up to $550 incl GST for a full shower regrout.
Those figures are the total you pay. GST is already included, so the price you see is the price on the invoice. Labour, materials and our 4-year workmanship warranty are all covered.
Most Perth shower repair companies will not publish a price at all. We do, because you should be able to work out roughly what this is going to cost before anyone knocks on your door.
Shower Base Regrout
The shower floor degrouted, regrouted with high-performance flexible grout, and sealed. Our most common leaking shower repair.
Full Shower Regrout
Walls and floor degrouted and regrouted, every silicone joint replaced, perimeter epoxy sealed and two coats of penetrating sealer. Price shown is for a small shower.
Silicone Replacement
Old, cracked or mouldy silicone removed and replaced at all junctions. Stops leaks at the most common entry point.
Epoxy Grout Upgrade
Every quoted price includes high-performance flexible grout, a polymer-modified product that handles building movement without cracking. Epoxy grout is the premium upgrade: harder, denser and completely non-porous. We recommend it for the shower floor, since that is where water sits. Here is exactly what it adds.
| Shower size | Floor only | Walls & floor |
|---|---|---|
| Small | + $125 | + $275 |
| Medium | + $150 | + $325 |
| Large | + $175 | + $375 |
All upgrade prices include GST. As an example, a small shower fully regrouted in epoxy comes to $825 in total.
What Takes a Job Above $550?
- Shower size, where the recess is medium or large rather than small
- Extra walls, for example a three-walled recess instead of two
- Showers with small tiles, which means far more grout lines to cut and fill
- Choosing the epoxy grout upgrade over standard flexible grout
Our Repair Method
How We Fix a Leaking Shower, Step by Step
Our process is deliberately slower and more thorough than most. A full shower regrout takes between 6 and 10 hours, and there is a reason for that: every joint in the shower is cut out and rebuilt rather than patched over.
Inspection and Diagnosis
Timotei inspects the full shower and works out where the water is getting in. If it looks like a plumbing fault rather than a grout or silicone fault, he refers you to a plumber before any work is quoted.
Silicone Removal
All existing silicone is cut out of the shower: the vertical corner joints, the full perimeter and the shower screen junction where access allows.
Wall Grout Removal
Every wall grout line is cut out with our custom DegroutingRescue tool, clearing the joints back to a clean bonding surface.
Floor Grout Removal
The shower floor is degrouted the same way, right back to clean joints. This is where most leaks originate and where the most care is taken.
Wall Regrouting
With all the old grout out, the walls are regrouted with high-performance flexible grout from Mapei or Ardex, chosen to handle the movement a shower wall goes through without cracking. Epoxy is available here as an upgrade.
Floor Regrouting
The floor is regrouted with high-performance flexible grout as standard. Epoxy is the upgrade, and it is the one we recommend for the floor because that is where water sits.
Epoxy upgrade recommendedDiamond-Tip Grinding and Epoxy Perimeter Seal
The shower perimeter is ground back with a diamond-tip tool and sealed with epoxy. This is the junction that fails first in most showers, so it gets the strongest material we use regardless of what grout you choose.
New Silicone and Tap Sealing
Fresh Mapei or Ardex silicone is run through every junction: corners, perimeter and screen. We can also seal around the tap perimeter if you want it done.
Tap sealing optionalTwo Coats of Penetrating Sealer
Two coats of penetrating sealer go on last. This one is about the tiles rather than the grout: it adds a protective layer across the tile surfaces themselves. Every joint and edge is then checked before the job is signed off.
Wait 36 Hours Before Using the Shower
This one matters. The grout and silicone both need a full 36 hours to cure properly. Using the shower before then can compromise the repair, so we ask every customer to hold off. It is the single most important thing you can do to make the work last.
Warranty Explained
Product Warranty vs Workmanship Warranty
You will see Perth shower repair companies advertising 10, 15 and 25 year warranties. It is worth understanding what those numbers actually cover, because they are not all the same thing.
Product Warranty
This comes from the grout manufacturer, not the tradesman. It covers the grout itself against cracking or breaking down. The Mapei and Ardex products we use carry their manufacturers' own warranties. What a product warranty does not cover is how the grout was installed.
Our 4 Year Workmanship Warranty
This is Timotei's personal guarantee on the work itself: the preparation, the application, the sealing and the silicone. Workmanship is where repairs actually fail. If something goes wrong with the work he has done within four years, he comes back and puts it right.
In other words, a long product warranty tells you the grout is good. A workmanship warranty tells you the person who installed it will stand behind the job. You get both here.
What Goes Wrong
Common Causes of a Leaking Shower
Most leaking showers share the same underlying causes. Working out which one you have is the first step to fixing it properly.
Cracked or Porous Grout
Grout shrinks, cracks and becomes porous over time, particularly in older Perth homes. Once compromised, it allows water to pass freely into the wall substrate with every shower.
Deteriorated Silicone Junctions
The silicone lines where your shower walls meet the floor are high-movement areas. They crack, peel away and harbour mould, creating a direct path for water ingress.
Building Movement
Perth's sandy soils and seasonal temperature swings cause houses to shift. This movement stresses tile joints and grout lines, opening fine cracks that let water penetrate.
Poor Original Grouting
Many Perth homes, particularly those built between the 1980s and 2000s, were grouted with cement-based products that were never sealed properly. These fail earlier and more completely than modern flexible and epoxy grouts.
Failed Waterproofing Membrane
Membranes installed during original construction do degrade over decades. Where the membrane has genuinely failed, the fix is a bathroom renovation rather than a regrout, and we will tell you that.
Plumbing and Drain Faults
Sometimes the water is not coming through the grout at all. Failed drain seals and pipework behind the wall both present like a leaking shower, and both need a plumber rather than a regrouter.
Spot It Early
Warning Signs Your Shower Is Leaking
A leaking shower often hides in plain sight. These are the four most common signs that water is escaping your shower and damaging your home.

Bubbling or Peeling Paint
When paint blisters away from the wall, moisture is escaping through the substrate, often from a leaking shower on the other side.

Swollen Skirting Boards
Timber skirting that bows, warps or lifts from the floor is saturated with water tracking from a leaking shower. Damp timber can also attract termites.

Hollow or Shifting Tiles
Tiles that sound hollow when tapped, or move under pressure, have had their adhesive bed compromised by sustained water ingress.

Black Mould on Grout or Silicone
Persistent black mould that returns after cleaning means water is sitting inside the grout or silicone, a sign of a compromised seal.
Why Customers Choose Us
Why Perth Homeowners Trust Regrouting Rescue
We are not a general tiling or building company. Regrouting and sealing is the only thing we do, which is exactly why we are willing to tell you when it is not the answer.
No Tile Removal Needed
In virtually every job we take on, we fix the problem without removing a single tile. That protects the waterproofing membrane underneath and saves you the cost of retiling.
Mapei and Ardex Materials
High-performance flexible grout as standard, epoxy as an upgrade, and matching silicone throughout. Colour chosen with you on the day from the manufacturer's chart rather than guessed from a photo.
Open Seven Days
Monday to Saturday 7am to 7:30pm, and Sunday mornings. Most Perth shower repairers close mid-afternoon on weekdays only. We work around your schedule.
We Tell You When It Is Not Us
If the water is coming from the plumbing, or the membrane has genuinely failed, regrouting will not fix it. We say so and refer you on rather than take the money and leave you with the same leak.
Published Prices, GST Included
Our prices are on this page, which is more than most will do, and the figure you see is the figure on the invoice. No call-out fees and no variations unless you ask for extra work.
Deal Direct With Timotei
No call centre, no scheduler, no subcontractor. The person who quotes your shower is the person who repairs it and the person who stands behind the warranty.
Beyond Homeowners
Strata, Commercial and Property Managers
A leaking shower in a managed property does not stay one property's problem for long. Water tracks into the unit below, and what began as failing grout becomes a claim. We work with strata managers, property managers and commercial clients across Perth.
Strata Managers
Fixing the grout and silicone in a leaking shower is faster and far cheaper than a bathroom strip-out, and it does not require decanting the resident. Reports and photos supplied on request.
Property Managers
Quick turnaround between tenancies, fixed quotes you can pass straight to the owner, and evening or weekend appointments so a tenant does not need to take time off work.
Commercial
Accommodation, gyms and any tiled wet area in a commercial building. Work scheduled around your operating hours wherever possible, including early mornings and weekends.

Common Questions
FAQs: Leaking Shower Repairs Perth
How much does a leaking shower repair cost in Perth?
Leaking shower repairs in Perth generally start from $350 incl GST for a basic shower base regrout and go up to $550 incl GST for a full shower regrout. Both figures are the total you pay, with labour, materials and our 4-year workmanship warranty included. We provide obligation-free quotes with no call-out fees.
What does the $350 shower base regrout include?
The shower floor: full degrout, regrout with high-performance flexible grout, silicone replacement and sealing. It usually takes 2 to 3 hours. Upgrading the floor to epoxy grout adds $125 for a small floor, $150 medium or $175 large.
What does the $550 full shower regrout include?
A small shower complete: walls and floor degrouted and regrouted with high-performance flexible grout, every silicone joint replaced, the perimeter ground back and epoxy sealed, and two coats of penetrating sealer. Medium and large showers, three-walled recesses and small tiles all cost more.
What is the difference between flexible grout and epoxy grout?
Flexible grout is polymer-modified, handles building movement without cracking, and is what every quoted price includes. Epoxy is the premium upgrade: harder, denser and completely non-porous. We recommend it on the shower floor because that is where water sits.
How long does the work take?
A shower base regrout takes 2 to 3 hours. A full shower regrout takes 6 to 10 hours depending on size, the number of walls and how small the tiles are. We deliberately spend longer on each job than most operators, because thorough preparation is what makes a repair last.
When can I use my shower again?
Wait 36 hours. The grout and silicone both need that long to cure properly, and using the shower earlier can compromise the repair. It is the single most important thing you can do to make the work last.
Do you need to remove tiles to fix a leaking shower?
In almost all cases, no. We also avoid replacing cracked tiles wherever we can, because lifting a tile risks damaging the waterproofing membrane underneath, which is exactly what we are trying to protect. Where a cracked tile needs attention we seal it with epoxy grout instead.
Do you do plumbing work?
No. We focus on regrouting and sealing only. If we suspect the issue is plumbing related, we refer you to a qualified plumber for pressure and flood testing to establish whether it is a plumbing or waterproofing problem before any regrouting proceeds.
Do you replace the waterproofing membrane?
No, and that is the point. Replacing a membrane means stripping the shower back to the substrate, which is a full bathroom renovation. Where the existing membrane is still serviceable, we restore the grout and silicone that have actually failed and leave the membrane alone.
Can you match the colour of my existing grout?
Yes. We use the Mapei and Ardex grout colour charts and pick the colour with you on the day, so you can hold it against your existing tiles before we start rather than guessing from a photo.
What are your opening hours?
Seven days. Monday to Saturday 7am to 7:30pm, and Sunday 7am to 1pm. Most Perth shower repair companies work weekdays only and finish mid-afternoon, so if you cannot take time off work, call 0411 343 979.
Who will actually turn up at my house?
Timotei Simina, every time. Regrouting Rescue is a one-man operation by design. There is no call centre, no sales rep and no subcontractor, so the person who quotes your shower is the person who repairs it and stands behind the warranty.
